Donald ‘I killed Roe v Wade’ Trump gave an interview to Time Magazine where he, AGAIN, revealed to the American People how much he would pursue an authoritarian course if reelected to the White House this November.
Among his declarations are his repeated assertions to mass deport illegal immigrants complete with concentration camps, send the National Guard onto college campuses, pardon the January 6 insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol in his name, and prosecute political opponents.
The poster boy for White Christian Male Nationalism also raised eyebrows when he said that red states should have the right to monitor women’s pregnancies, arrest doctors and women, and restrict abortions to their hearts content, saying:
“I’m leaving everything up to the states. The states are going to be different. Some will say yes. Some will say no. Texas is different than Ohio.”
On states that track pregnancies and arrest those who defy abortion bans, the twice impeached and popular vote loser said:
“I think they might do that. It’s irrelevant whether I’m comfortable or not. It’s totally irrelevant, because the states are going to make those decisions.”
This is Donald Trump’s America. A nation where any Red State can create their own Handmaids Tale Republic of Gilead where women’s reproductive freedoms are shattered and their health care compromised because physicians would be too scared to care for them because they fear jail time.
How is this guy not down twenty points in the polls?
President Biden wasted no time pounding on Mr. ‘David Duke supports me’ Trump’s interview comments, releasing a personal response on social media, saying his predecessor’s comments were “shocking” for reaffirming support for states to “punish” and “prosecute” women for “accessing reproductive health care.”
The President also reminded voters that Mr. Trump would sign a ban that would stop couples from getting In Vitro Fertilization. How pro life is that?
Mr. Biden closed with:
“There seems to be no limit to how invasive Trump would let the state be. This should be a decision between a woman and her doctor and the government should get out of people’s lives.”
Several leading Arizona leading Democrats, at a press event ahead of the State Senate repeal vote of the Civil War Era Abortion Ban yesterday (May 1, 2024,) also assigned blame to Donald Trump for the health hazards women now face across the country.
Arizona State Senator and Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee Co-Chair Arizona Senator Priya Sundareshan stated in a press release:
“Make no mistake– Arizona women are currently living under an extreme abortion ban, even before the 1864 ban goes into effect. Even if we are successful tomorrow, that won’t change. Which is why it’s never been more important to get involved in this election. Donald Trump, and Republicans here in Arizona, are complicit in this ban and in a nationwide attempt to restrict access to reproductive health care, from contraceptives to abortion. They don’t plan to stop anytime soon.”
Arizona Democratic Party Chairperson Yolanda Bejarano wrote in the same release:
“These extreme bans that we’re facing are because of Donald Trump. He’s the reason that, regardless of tomorrow’s outcome, regardless of whether the two necessary GOP legislators join our Senators, Arizona women will continue living under an abortion ban. And Donald Trump wants the entire country to live under an abortion ban.”
Arizona Women’s Health Clinician and Family Physician and State Lead Committee to Protect Health Care Dr. Cadey Harrel relayed:
““Here in Arizona and across the U.S., our patients are facing unnecessary restrictions and regulations on abortion care because of Donald Trump’s abortion bans, making it harder for all women to access the reproductive health care they deserve. These extreme bans that we’re facing are because of Donald Trump. He’s the reason that, regardless of tomorrow’s outcome, regardless of whether the two necessary GOP legislators join our Senators, Arizona women will continue living under an abortion ban. And Donald Trump wants the entire country to live under an abortion ban.”
