Reaction to the Four Arizona Republican House Representatives that Voted to Overturn the Legitimate 2020 Election

A combined 147 “Republican” House Members and Senators, with no evidence of major fraud or election tampering, voted to object and overturn the legitimate election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Included among those 147 now-infamous figures are all of Arizona’s House Republican Delegation (Debbie Lesko, Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, and David Schweikert.)

Remember these names and never forget their assault on Democracy on January 6, 2021.

The reasons three of these Arizona Representatives gave for objecting to the Arizona results (Schweikert did not object to Arizona)have all been dismissed by numerous court findings (including the Arizona State Supreme Court.)

The one factor offered to justify objection that was the most stunning was the assertion (made by Biggs) that Arizona’s electoral votes should not count because Maricopa County, thanks to activist court decisions, was able to register 30,000 more voters past the original October 5, 2020 deadline.

So, according to Lesko, Biggs, and Gosar, one of the reasons Arizona’s electoral votes should be disqualified is because more people were able to vote.

Beware the public servant that wants as few people to vote as possible.

They probably do not believe in Democracy or Republics.

Reaction to these “Republican Representatives” assault on the American Ideal has been universal in Democratic Circles.

Arizona Democratic Party Chairperson Felecia Rotellini commented in an interview to KJZZ NPR that these Republicans were hypocrites, saying:

“They want to have this double standard where they feel that they can challenge the presidential vote, but doesn’t that also put their own election into play and cast doubt on its integrity?”

Later, in a statement released by the Arizona Democratic Party, she said:

“I commend our Democratic elected officials in the U.S. House and Senate for their steadfast commitment to our Democratic Republic and their courage throughout a terrifying ordeal.”

Delina DiSanto, the 2020 Democratic Arizona House District Four Nominee that ran against Paul Gosar commented on his vote and part in the attempted insurrection by Pro-Trump Domestic Terrorists yesterday:

“U.S. Representative Gosar has been coercing with the far-right extremist groups for a long time. He found a niche with these groups for his deep need for excessive attention and be admired by them. They clung onto him because he is a member of Congress. Gosar has pushed for 2nd Amendment sanctuary cities and for many years spewed outrageous conspiracy theories. On October 2, 2020, he voted against a resolution condemning QAnon, the viral pro-Trump movement and it’s baseless conspiracy theories, along with encouraging death threats to candidates. Gosar never condemned these actions. Gosar even promoted his supporters and pro-Trump supporters to go to DC and “take back our democracy”. His behavior and his actions must be called to the floor of congress. I believe he is as guilty as Trump for all the incitement of hate and lies they have promoted. They asked for these domestic terrorists to come to DC and instilled the anger they possessed yesterday. Gosar cannot play the game and say he didn’t know this would happen. He has been promoting and enabling this behavior for a long time. He must be expelled from Congress.”

“He is a failure as a leader and has failed the people of his district and our state. I’m disgusted we have representatives, like Rep. Paul Gosar, in our nation’s capital. It’s a danger to our Democracy.”

Joan Greene, the Democrat that ran against Andy Biggs in 2018 and 2020 wrote:

“Andy Biggs is one of the leaders of the Sedition Caucus. His actions and lies are the fuel for yesterday’s attack on our Capitol and putting his colleagues and staff in danger.”

“From the time Biggs broke into the SCIF until yesterday, he has shown the world what a domestic terrorist in a suit looks like. He must be removed from elected office and the judicial system will  decide if his actions are chargeable crimes.”

Dr. Hiral Tipirneni, the Congressional District Six Nominee against David Schweikert tweeted:

Michael Muscato, the Democrat who challenged Debbie Lesko in 2020 tweeted:

Washington Post Conservative Columnist George Will said that Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Josh Hawley should be branded with S’s for sedition for the rest of their lives.

Some may rightfully feel that all 147 “Republicans” that voted to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election, including the four apostates of Trumpism from Arizona should be branded with that S as well.

Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post called these “Republicans” enablers.

Jennifer Rubin and others have referred to them as the Seditious Caucus.

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times said these people who attempted to overturn the legitimate election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris should be known as members of the “Coup-Plotter Caucus.”

So when someone asks you what word comes to mind when you have to think of Debbie Lesko, Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, and David Schweikert, consider the following:

  • Assaulters of Democracy.
  • Hypocrites.
  • Devious.
  • Traitors.
  • Seditious.
  • Enablers.
  • Coup-Plotters.
  • Enemies of the People.
  • Trumpists.
  • Infamous.
  • Know Nothings.

From this day forward, they do not deserve any positive descriptor.

Remember their names. Recall them if possible, vote them out in 2022 if they decide to run again. They do not deserve a place in the hallowed citadel of this nation’s Democratic Republic, the United States Congress.

  1. ONE HOUR after the riot was quelled and Congress was back in session, who had learned her lesson about repeating lies and QAnon crap? Not Debbie Lesko, who posted a press release to her congressional web page explaining why she believed in overturning millions of votes and sucking up to her idol Trump. Many of her sycophants praised her on her Facebook page. I criticized her, saying “Shame. Shame. Shame. The bodies of several Trumpers aren’t even cold yet and you’re posting your support for Trump after the fact, just like you did in the 2018 elections, trying to appeal to both fringe and moderate Republican voters, when all you are is the lunatic fringe.”

Someone on her staff deleted my comment, or maybe the entire post, and then started again.

  2. Debbie Lesko and her pals took an oath to the Constitution. Obviously it either means nothing to her or she has no idea what that oath means if it gets in the way of her career.
