Representatives Lesko, Biggs, and Gosar are Literary Stars for All the Wrong Reasons

As previously reported by respected writers like AZ Central’s Ronald Hansen, Republican Representatives Debbie Lesko, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar have become literary stars for all the wrong reasons.

A close to 2000 page report released by House Administration Chairperson Zoe Lofgren shows the social media postings of prominent 2020 Presidential election deniers masquerading as Republican Congressmen stoking the big lie of a rigged election before the Trumpist Domestic Terrorist Attack on the Nation’s Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Writing at the beginning of the report, Ms. Lofgren stated:

“Like former President Trump, any elected Member of Congress who aided and abetted the insurrection or incited the attack seriously threatened our democratic government. They would have betrayed their oath of office and would be implicated in the same constitutional provision cited in the Article of Impeachment. That provision prohibits any person who has previously taken an oath as a member of Congress to support the Constitution but subsequently engaged in insurrection or rebellion from serving in Congress.”

Among the usual suspects are Marjorie Jewish Lasers are causing California Forest Fires Greene and Mo falling rocks cause rising sea levels, Brooks.

Mr. Brooks was also at the Trump rally just before the attack, calling for people to “start taking down names and kicking ass.”

Close to 15 percent of the report (257 pages) contains literary contributions from Debbie Lesko, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar.

According to Hansen’s reporting, Arizona is the leader of the pack in delegation members spewing this election denialism Big Lie. Paul Gosar led the way with 177 pages of material.

Among Gosar’s greatest hits, according to reporting by CNN, are his posts urging his fellow fanatics to “hold the line” and “sedition and treason for stealing votes is appropriate.”

Andy Biggs, in true form, called Representative Lofgren’s report “an attack on free speech.”

Democratic Reactions to the Lofgren Report Revelations. 

Reacting to the Lofgren report revelations, Arizona Democratic Party Communications Director Alex Alvarez commented:

“It is deeply troubling that Representatives Biggs, Gosar, and Lesko are cited in a Congressional report detailing concerning social media posts before and after the January 6th attacks. Arizonans deserve answers from Representatives Biggs, Gosar, and Lesko regarding their interactions with organizers or participants of the attack on our nation’s Capitol.”

The 2020 Democratic House Nominees against Lesko, Biggs, and Gosar also offered their insights on the recent news

Delina DiSanto, the nominee that ran against Gosar, wrote:

“As you all know, especially those who follow me and Paul Gosar on social media, I have been calling out Gosar since 2018. Paul Gosar has been involved with white nationalists, spewed conspiracy theories, worked hard to create 2A sanctuary cities here in Arizona and across the nation, arrogantly used hateful rhetoric and has used this behavior to gain attention, fundraise, and incite domestic terrorism. Let’s just take one sentence he said on January 23, 2021, “Let’s get our facts straight: Sedition is actively advocating for the overthrow of the government by force”. He truly does not know what a true Patriot is. He never denounced the domestic terrorists on January 6th. He’s been undermining our democracy for many years. These misrepresentations and misinformation he has done throughout his Congressional career shows he is not fit to be a member of Congress.”

“I believe this investigation by Rep. Zoe Lofgren is way past due, but there never would have been an investigation if Trump was reelected. I thank Rep. Zoe Lofgren for her investigation and determination to bring attention to this important issue facing our nation. Joan Greene, the Democrat who ran against Biggs in both 2018 and 2020 relayed:

“Andy Biggs’ free speech was not attacked.

Even though evidence, including numerous audits and court cases, proved the election in AZ to be safe, secure, and honest, he persisted in words and deeds in attacking the integrity of the election results which included AZ and other states.

Republican Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich dismissed claims of election fraud in Arizona.

Republican Arizona Governor Doug Ducey said the election laws were followed and affirmed his faith in the result.

We have used the same process to vote in AZ for years. I have not read any article that Biggs has ever contested any previous AZ election, nor did he call for accountability and integrity for every vote to be counted in his 2016 primary.

What Biggs does not like is his own words compiled in one place for easy reference.

We will continue to wait for the results of the FBI, the congressional ethics committee, and any investigations the manufacturer of the voting machines and software may bring forth.”

The 2020 Democratic Nominee against Lesko, Michael Muscato, relayed:

“A 257-page report…just think about that for a second, would you? 257 pages worth of social media tweets from three of our elected officials pushing fraudulent election claims, insurrection, sedition, and attacking our democracy. Here’s the thing folks, regardless of your political party, WE PAID THEM to spend their time ranting on social media and regurgitating known misinformation on tv stations and print interviews. They did all of this as people were dying from Covid, being evicted from their homes, struggling to live on unemployment and/or use the system, closing their businesses, and/or rescheduling their lives around masks, virtual school, etc… These reps didn’t care about any of that because they do not care about our lives. We are not whom their allegiance lies with. These people are sick mentally and none of this over-the-top extremist action is new for these three, it’s just the latest version of their corruption. They are owned by Trump, by big business, by lobbyists, and by white supremacist groups. Owned.”

“Because this is the United States, we have this thing called due process. It actually applies even to this group. The truth will catch up to them. That’s part of what so many have fought and died to uphold. But remember, these three haven’t once apologized. They haven’t once backed off their positions on the election nor taken accountability for their words and their part in misinformation and manipulation of their constituents. Should the facts show any representatives conspired with insurrectionists, may the gavel of justice be heavy and swift on behalf of all of the people of this country. No mercy for traitors.”

Moving Forward

DiSanto, Greene, Muscato, and Alvarez are right.

There is no excuse for this election denialism and the continuing spread of the big lie of election fraud.

Arizonans and the American People have a right to know whether any Congressmen in that close to 2000 page Lofgren report directly influenced the Trumpist Domestic Terrorist Attack on the Nations Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Here is a fast forward to the conclusion. Some, if not all of them did.

If the investigation confirms that people like Lesko, Gosar, and Biggs helped incite the attack, they should be held criminally and civilly liable.

The American Ideal of Democracy and Republicanism can not endure if fringe reactionaries are allowed to run amuck and endeavor to tear the system down.

These people need to be stopped and not allowed to be in a position where they can never influence any future January 6, 2021 events again.
