My post below gives the Star some credit for writing a good editorial this morning on the recommendations of the R-dominated House committee on tuition tax credits.
However, the editorial pales in comparison to the coverage in the Sunday Republic: 1 article, 5 separate opinion pieces and a graph. Congrats again to Pat Kossan and Ronald J. Hansen for the article and their continuing pursuit of the topic, and to Doug MacEachern for his opinion pieces.
Here's what you can read on the topic in the Sunday Republic:
- Tuition aid eludes needy
- Lawmakers must save tuition tax-credit program
- 7 steps to a better tuition law
- Law failed to define just who is needy
- Worst of the worst: Earmarking at core of problem
- Lack of detail rotting ideals of program
- Graphic: How private tax credits work
