Congratulations to Adelita, the first Latina elected to Congress from Arizona. Voter runout was 23.18% , but provisional ballots are still being processed and counted. She will be serving from Sept. 2025 till she runs for re-election in 2026, for a 2 year term.
Previous Arizona Latino Congressmen have been Democrats – the late Raul Grijalva (CDs 3 & 7), the late Ed Pastor (CDs 2, 4, 7) and Ruben Gallego (CDs 7 & 3). Current Latino Congressman is Republican Juan Ciscomani (CD 6). Gallego is now one of Arizona’s US Senators.

Proud to have a Congressperson again. Raul fought the good fight, have every reason to believe Adelita will as well.
Raul would have been so proud to see his daughter elected, but he had to die in office for that to occur. R.I.P. Raul for your 22 plus years as Arizona’s Congressman.
I understand the Speaker of the House, holy roller Mike Johnson plans to delay her swearing in to prevent the Epstein files discharge petition from going forward.
Why is it those who wear their religious faith (not to mention patriotism) on their sleeve turn out to be the biggest hypocritical pieces of shit?
It’s not hypocrisy if you don’t mean it in the first place.
Just ask them.
And congratulations to MAGA, because the votes are now there to release the Epstein files!
Prolly shoulda’ warned them to be careful what you wish for 😎
The regular term of a member of Congress is two years (24 months) though she was elected to serve out the remainder of an unexpired term (15+ months).
Thanks for the correction. Yes, I meant that Adelita will be serving till she runs for re-election in Nov. 2026, for the full 2 year term.
