Results from Tucson City Council General Election 2025 – updated

City of Tucson Elections has released the early ballot results from the General Election held today for Councilmembers running in Wards 3, 5 and 6. Voter turnout at 29.16%. Provisional ballots still being counted.

Kevin Dahl (D), incumbent 60,964

Janet Wittenbraker (R) 28,765

Ward 5 (open seat)

Selina Barajas (D) 65,812

Ward 6 (open seat)

Miranda Schubert (D) 60,404

Jay Tolkoff (R) 29,280

Congratulations to the Council winners, all Democrats. Provisional ballots will be processed and counted for the next week, so stay tuned for final tally. Big party tonight at Hotel Congress outdoor courtyard hosted by Pima County Democratic Party.

Prop 414 (TUSD bond override)

Yes 51,587

No 38,649

Prop. 417 (Plan Tucson)

Yes 54,583

No 32,607

Carolyn’s note: One wonders at voter turnout being only 29.16%. That means about 70% of the voters in Tucson got their early ballots (if they requested them) and threw them away? Granted, Ward 5 was uncontested.

Updated 11/12/25. This still may be the final tally after provisional ballots being counted.
