Sarah Palin for AZ Senator? Ally Miller LOVES the idea.

by David Safier

Ally_endorsing_palin"M-a-a-a-ybe Sarah Palin?" That's what Ally Miller, running for Pima County Supervisor in District One, said, with no little excitement, when she was talking about who she would like to see as Arizona's next Senator.

Ally made her endorsement during the same "Women of Courage" video where she proclaimed her involvement with the Tea Party Patriots. (Here is the entire interview, which was uploaded onto youtube in August, 2011. The clip about Palin comes around the 3:45 mark.) Since then, Ally has tried to evade the question of her Tea Party membership by calling it "name calling" and "juvenile behavior" — even "horrible stories and lies about me" — to connect her with the Tea Party. This "Woman of Courage" is showing her feet of clay now that she's running in the general election and is terrified her far right ideology will cost her votes.

Here's the clip where Ally suggests Sarah Palin as the best choice for Arizona Senator.

The transcript:

Ally: "And I hope that we get some officials elected to office, a new Senator from Arizona — maybe Sarah Palin — somebody that can make a difference down there and do the right thing."

Interviewer: "Super."

It'll be interesting to see what happens when someone asks Ally about her enthusiasm for Sarah Palin– who hasn't spent enough time in Arizona to even qualify as a carpetbagger — as the best pick for our next Senator.

[Full disclosure: I volunteer with Nancy Young Wright's campaign. I am also, unlike Sarah Palin and Ally Miller, a member of the fact-based community.]
