SB1070 Update: Brewer’s distorted view of immigrants

Craig already posted about this Brewer quote with the drop dead great headline, Jan Brewer's new motto: "Damn the facts, full distort ahead!"

I just want to reemphasize exactly what Brewer said during an exchange between with Matt Jette at the June 15 debate.

BREWER: We are a nation of laws. And they are coming across our border illegally. And the majority of them in my opinion and I think in the opinion of law enforcement is that they are not coming here to work. They are coming here and they’re bringing drugs. And they’re doing drop houses and they’re extorting people and they’re terrorizing the families. That is the truth, Matt. That is the truth.

The majority are coming here bringing drugs, says Brewer. Followed by "That is the truth, Matt. That is the truth" — a phrasing that sounds eerily similar to Hayworth's "This is real. This is real." in his government-money-for-free infomercial.

When Brewer gets off script, she tends to reveal who she is, a foaming-at-the-mouth extremist who doesn't let facts get in the way of her distorted beliefs.
