Prepare for the deluge of campaign ads, social media outreach, and knocks on your door from Democratic legislative district candidates seeking your vote in 2026.
With Democrats outperforming in most electoral contests in 2025, including those in Republican gerrymandered seats like the one in Georgia yesterday, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) has committed to a $50 million campaign strategy designed to:
- Take current majorities in state legislatures and convert them to super majorities.
- Take battleground districts and make the State Legislative houses Democratic majorities.
- Invest and gain strength in red states in order to achieve long term potential purple and blue opportunities.

The Grand Canyon State is in the second bracket.
Calling this “a once-in-a-generation opportunity,” the DLCC team, in targeting 42 legislative chambers across the nation, wrote in their plan:
“The DLCC’s strategy in 2026 isn’t only about statehouse gains—it will secure a fundamental shift of power
that will impact the future of the Democratic Party at all levels of the ballot…2026 is when our strategy will meet an opportunity to flip more than 650 state legislative seats and secure multiple new majorities and trifectas across the country, including in battlegrounds like Arizona, Michigan, New Hampshire, Minnesota, and Wisconsin…”
Commenting specifically on Arizona in a press release, DLCC President Heather Williams stated:
“2026 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to fundamentally transform state legislative power in Arizona and the data shows us the next election is our strongest opportunity yet to flip these chambers. By adding Arizona to the DLCC’s target map, we are expanding our winning strategy to chip away at Republican power and create lasting power in statehouses all across the country.
The favorable political environment taking shape for Democrats is on a scale that only comes once in a generation, and the DLCC is poised to meet this moment through the largest target map and budget ever. We aren’t wasting a moment to execute on our winning strategy to flip Arizona’s legislature and deliver a new trifecta.”
Commenting on the DLCC investment in the Grand Canyon State to Blog for Arizona, Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (ADLCC) Executive Director Scott McNeil offered:
“Arizona Democrats are ready to win in 2026. We have seen incredible momentum throughout the state, and today’s announcement is further proof that we are in a strong position to win next November.”

Posting on social media, Senate Democratic Leader and ADLCC Co-Chairperson Priya Sundareshan relayed:
House Democratic Leader ADLCC Co-Chairperson Oscar De Los Santos also posted, writing:
Senator Sundareshan and Representative De Los Santos also just interviewed with Blog for Arizona to discuss the Democratic agenda on affordability, helping the disadvantaged and people in need, funding public education, reforming the ESA welfare/scam for the wealthy program, and water security.
That will be released next week.
