Sound and fury

by David Safier

This is a bit late, but I just saw this on Kenny Jacobs' new blog, a Pithy Diarist: a Youtube video from the crazy-base 9/12 event in D.C.. One guy walks through the crowd with a large Public Option Now sign, and . . . Let the Boos Begin!

It's the same all the way through. No need to watch the whole thing.

By the way, a more complete version of the Shakespeare quote I used for the headline is strangely appropriate: "It is a tale/Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,/Signifying nothing."

  1. Some people show great optimism by suggesting that at least the teabaggers signify people mad enough to actually stand up from their couches. There’s even an idea floating around that the teabagger can be educated. That would take a Safier-like level of patience similar to sifting through the celebrated ambiguity of Gifford’s position on healthcare.
Some people are asking, “What about the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh? Where are the teabaggers?” Here you got a bunch of flown-in, fat-ass teflon-coated cops beating up kids trying to protect U.S. sovereignty and middle class jobs. This should be enough to cause Glenn Beck to put on Tammy Faye Baker mascara the next time he pours on the waterworks. Let the teabaggers meet the sonic guns!
Facebook is down for the count!
