Story of stealth candidate in Pearce recall has MSM legs

by David Safier

If you've been following the Russell Pearce recall election, you know Pearce's supporters have helped put a Hispanic candidate, Olivia Cortes, on the ballot to dilute the anti-Pearce vote, hoping to stop Jerry Lewis from winning. The people collecting signatures for Cortes have said as much to potential signers. They're on tape telling people, if you support Pearce, help Cortes get on the ballot.

But will the media cover the story? The answer appears to be, yes.

Here's the latest from Brahm Resnik on Channel 12 News in Phoenix. It doesn't break any new ground, but it brings the story to people who aren't political junkies and get their news on TV. That makes it important. The hope is, this sleazeball tactic will turn voters against Pearce.
