  1. Lots of folks at the Loft for this free sustainability festival. I listened to Dr. Joseph Gonzales talk about plant-based nutrition (& eating less red meat) in helping to fight off cancer, then the controversial film “Cowspiracy” about the large carbon footprint of animal husbandry in America and around the world. Filmmakers Kip and Keegan answered questions later, are giving out free DVDs to educators, and will be showing the film again at 3:30 p.m. Urge our readers to see it and listen to the facts about the high cost of feeding cattle/pigs/chickens and whether cutting back on consumption of animal food is worthwhile.
