Final? 2014 TUSD Governing Board candidates forum

If you haven’t voted your early ballot or are waiting to vote at the polls on November 4, 2014, you still have time to attend an upcoming TUSD Governing Board candidates forum on Oct. 20, at the YWCA, 525 N. Bonita Ave.  All 9 candidates running for 2 seats on the board were invited, but Francis Saitta has declined and incumbent Michael Hicks has a conflict with a class he’s teaching at PCC.  Of the other 7 candidates, all have confirmed attendance to date: Rene Bernal, Debe Campos-Fleenor, Don Cotton, Miguel Cuveas, Jen Darland, incumbent Adelita Grijalva, & Betts Puthnam-Hidalgo.

Who’s running for TUSD Governing Bd. in 2014

Today was the filing deadline for those interested in serving on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board.  Nine  people filed by the 5 p.m. deadline, so here’s the cast of candidates to choose from in the November 4th general  election.  This is a nonpartisan race for 2 school board members (unpaid volunteers). The two incumbents are Adelita Grijalva and Michael Hicks, both running for re-election. In alphabetical order from last name:
