Tax Fools’ Gold — or trying to acquire gold from fools (See Goldwater Institute, ALEC)

Eliminate the income tax! Broaden the sales tax base! Lower the sales tax rate! Bring prosperity to Arizona!

You can learn all about it at a Goldwater Institute event where Jonathan Williams "director of the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force for the American Legislative Exchange Council [ALEC]" will be the main speaker.

Oh, and Steve Court, Republican State Rep, will be on hand to discuss "what the legislature must do in order to take these suggestions from paper to practice so that Arizona can become one of the most prosperous states in the country."

And it gets even better, if that's possible. If you're a member of the Goldwater Institute or ALEC, the event is free!

NOTE FOR CLARITY: I think broadening the sales tax is a good idea, though I'm not sure I mean the same thing they do. But combining it with wiping out the progressive income tax is a transfer of taxation from the rich to everyone else.
