The Mathis ouster has not been kind to Brewer’s numbers

by David Safier

Unheart_queenAn Arizona poll indicates the state isn't happy with Brewer's attempts to subvert the Redistricting Commission.

The poll of 500 Arizonans, which was conducted by Public Policy Polling from Nov. 17-20, showed that 43 percent opposed Mathis’ removal, 31 percent supported it and 26 percent had no opinion.

When you break that down by party, it looks even worse for the Red Queen. Look at the Independent numbers.

  • Democrats: 72% opposed
  • Republicans: 54% support (it doesn't say how many were opposed and how many had no opinion)
  • Independents: 41% opposed, 19% support, 40% no opinion.

The latest poll on Brewer's approval has her at 42% approval, 49% disapproval. Those aren't truly terrible numbers, but they're a slip from the 52-30 approve/disapprove split right after she signed SB1070.

Randy Parraz says he's gotten hundreds of people already signing up to volunteer at Citizens for a Better Arizona today. He needs 5,000 before he's willing to undertake a Recall Brewer campaign. This could be our moment.
