On this Halloween, while much of the news has recently focused on the Trump-MAGA created shutdown that cruelly threatens, through its cuts to SNAP and Obamacare subsidies, to drive a stake into the financial stability (such as it is) of the working and middle class in this country, the American Duce Wannabe has continued its real American Horror Story this Halloween by proceeding with its construction of a Fascist mass deportation and terror police state regime.
Recent examples of this are the recent indictments to intimidate protesters at ICE facilities like Illinois Congressional Candidate Kat Abughazaleh who responded to this authoritarian act in a statement:
“This is a political prosecution and a gross attempt at silencing dissent, a right protected under the First Amendment. This case is yet another attempt by the Trump administration to criminalize protest and punish those who dare to speak up.”
Another disturbing development is the Defense Department, acting on Trump Executive Orders, to ready “quick reaction forces” of 500 men per targeted American Cities in all 50 states in case of riots by January 1 with possible operational readiness by April 1 . The estimated troop total, according to the Washington Post, is 23,500.
The question on all people’s minds should be what situation on the ground will Trump and MAGA try to create to justify these deployments or are they preparing to start a disruption at the next No Kings type events next year. More importantly, will the Courts let him put more troops on the ground in the nation’s cities?
Sending poll monitors to California and New Jersey in a blatant attempt to scare people away from the ballot box in next weeks November 4 elections is another example of Mr. Trump and MAGA trying to steer electoral contests to their satisfaction.
To their credit, California’s leaders have said they will send their own monitors to watch the MAGA Fascist ones and make sure there is no attempts at intimidation.
Finally, there is the continued horrific treatment by Trump’s Gestapo ICE and Homeland Security Department toward illegal immigrants and American Citizens who are being taken off the street and “disappeared” in many cases without due process despite Supreme Court rulings to do so.
One of the most egregious recent examples was Silvia Reyna Mendoza, a mother of eight who has lived in the United States for 40 years, who was deported to Mexico, despite a court order mandating her to stay in the country, after she accused an ICE contractor of sexually propositioning/harassing her.
Responding to Trump’s continued construction of a Mass Deportation and Police State Terror Regime, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari, who has made this issue a focal point in her first year in office, released the below social media video where she highlighted the horrific plight of Alejandro Juarez and condemned what the American Duce Wannabe and his White Nationalist Fascist cronies are doing.
In her comments, Representative Ansari said:
“Even as we deal with this ongoing Republican government shutdown, we cannot look away from Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, and Kristi Noem, advancing an authoritarian mass deportation agenda that is tearing families apart. I want to tell you about one case in particular that makes this painfully clear. Alejandro Juarez, he worked at one of Donald Trump’s own golf courses. He lived in the United States for decades. He has a wife and children here. But when ICE detained him, they didn’t even follow basic procedures. According to new reporting from the New York Times, he was supposed to be transferred to a detention center in Arizona, maybe Eloy. This is the center that I visited. There’s horrific conditions there. It is a prison. Either way, ICE “accidentally” put him on a plane to Mexico. No hearing. No day in court. No chance to say goodbye to his family. Just gone. This is not how the United States of America is supposed to operate, but this is not even an isolated case. We saw the same thing with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was wrongfully deported to a maximum security prison in El Salvador. He was held there for months. They were reports of torture. Trump tried to cover this up. It took a Supreme Court ruling and members of Congress traveling to El Salvador to relentlessly advocate for due process. These mistakes only happen in a system that is designed to dehumanize people, a system that Trump is actively trying to expand. He just handed the Department of Homeland Security 170 billion dollars to expand this terror. And all of this is while he continues to distract the country with his chaos, including the shutdown, hoping that we stop paying attention to this, but we’re not going to. I will keep shining a light on these abuses. I will keep fighting for accountability of the rogue ICE Terror agency and keep fighting for due process and the fundamental belief that families belong together.”
Lat week, the Congresswoman also reminded people about the continuing tragedy surrounding Arbella “Yari” Rodríguez Márquez, a leukemia patient still being detained in Eloy who finally received her first visit from a medical specialist but is still suffering behind bars.
Halloween should be a joyous time for children going around their local communities saying trick or treat and having a great time getting candy from friendly neighbors.
It should not be an opportunity for Donald Trump and his Fascist White Nationalist Goons to create an episode of American Horror Story.
