Days after saying that the United States would bomb Iran back to the Stone Age, Mad King Donald Trump has issued several unhinged several social media posts including:
It is not normal for an American President to publicly announce that he will commit recognized war crimes against civilians, especially the ones you claim you are bombing the Iranian leadership for.
If this were any other White House Occupant, the Vice President and the cabinet would be knocking over each other to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment because these posts are clearly the ramblings of a mentally unbalanced person acting like an unhinged radical holy warrior.
Mad King Trump’s posts have been universally condemned by people in the world of political sanity.
Representative Yassamin Ansari posted:
“The 25th Amendment exists for a reason.
The President of the United States is a deranged lunatic and a national security threat to our country and the rest of the world.”
Michigan Senator and retired veteran Elissa Slotkin, one of the Congressional members Mr. Trump called for hanging because she called on active duty military members not to obey an illegal order, wrote on social media:
“President Trump’s latest threats on Truth Social, if carried out, would violate the law of armed conflict as laid out in the Geneva Conventions and the DoD Law of War Manual. It is both irresponsible and wrong to indiscriminately kill civilians in Iran and destroy civilian infrastructure like bridges and power plants — particularly when the President said this war was to aid the Iranian people. On top of that, it’s our service members who are put in legal and mortal danger. And when the smoke clears, it will be our service members — not President Trump or Secretary Hegseth — who could have to live with the consequences. President Trump has walked us into another complicated war in the Middle East. His decisions are making us less safe abroad, raising prices and costing American blood and treasure. He must negotiate a way to end this war, open the Strait of Hormuz, and bring our warriors home.”
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries conveyed:
“Disgusting and unhinged Easter message from Donald Trump. Something is really wrong with this guy. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer offered:
“Happy Easter, America. As you head off to church and celebrate with friends and family, the President of the United States is ranting like an unhinged madman on social media. He’s threatening possible war crimes and alienating allies. This is who he is, but this is not who we are. Our country deserves so much better.”
Massachusetts Representative Jim McGovern reacted with:
“This is psychotic. The President of the United States needs to get help. Totally unhinged and extremely dangerous.”
Senator Bernie Sanders posted:
“One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday. These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war.”
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy issued a series of posts, writing:
“Trump is calling reporters today to tell them he is going to commit mass war crimes next week. GOP leaders need to stop him. Never mind that blowing up bridges and power plants and killing innocent Iranians won’t reopen the Strait. It’s also a clear war crime.
Trump isn’t even pretending to choose military targets. He is promising to bomb all of Iran’s power plants and bridges. This is http://military.com making it clear that hitting civilian infrastructure, like power plants, is a war crime.
Trump’s advisors are telling him to hit civilian sites because it will cause unrest and potentially topple the regime. But just think about the insanity of this plan: kill tens of thousands of civilians in order to cause a national panic.
The current regime won’t open the Strait, so he is going to murder innocent people to induce a national panic? WTF. Trump is out of control. The experts on the Geneva Conventions are clear on this too. Bombing to induce political panic IS A WAR CRIME.
He says he’s going to destroy ALL Iranian bridges and power plants. Ok, he’s probably lying. But even blowing up a fraction will kill thousands of innocent people who work in those power plants and travel on the nation’s roads. That’s also a war crime.
And for what? To force Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz WHICH WAS OPEN BEFORE TRUMP STARTED BOMBING IRAN??? This is pure insanity. It won’t work. It will just permanently stain America. GOP leaders should call Congress back into session this week to end this war.”
It is time for JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and the rest of the cabinet to put country over the Cult of Personality.
It is time to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment, remove Mr. Trump from power, and save innocent lives.
