The hugely popular Tucson Festival of Books was cancelled in March 2020 due to the start of the COVID-19 global pandemic. It was one of the first events to cancel in Tucson, as several authors were hesitant to attend.
For 2021 the Tucson Festival of Books is smaller, without any in-person attendance at the UA Mall, or need to find parking for your vehicle. It will be held virtually on March 6 and 7, with a sign in link at www.crowdcast.io/tfob to view the author presentations.
Here’s a video from the AZ Daily Star (sponsor) on how to sign up for that crowdcast link:
I didn’t find it all that user friendly, so note of warning — find your email & sign up with a password, then refresh the link to get your “sign in” page. It can send you an email with access to the TFB website. It took me a while to figure that one out, even with the video.
March 6 and 7 author schedule (sessions at 9 and 11 am, 1 and 3 pm both days) : https://tucsonfestivalofbooks.org/?id=58
New this year is a Friday night virtual kickoff event at 5:30 pm on March 5.
“Join us on Friday, March 5 at 5:30 p.m. for this special pre-festival event with some of the biggest names in literature! Hosted by festival favorite and NPR host Scott Simon, this exciting hour-long event will begin with entertainment by Willy Vlautin, includes the presentation of the Tucson Festival of Books Founders Award to best-selling author Lisa See, and is followed by a conversation between Scott and United States Poet Laureate Billy Collins.
Don’t miss this kick-off of our 2021 virtual festival! Register here today!”
