Watch Bill Moyers’ interview with Luis Alberto Urrea — a second nudge

by David Safier

Look, I don't want to get all English teacher on you and make this an assignment, but you really should watch Bill Moyers' interview with author Luis Alberto Urrea. It's simply the clearest exposition of both sides of the Mexico-U.S. border and of the experience of other-ness that comes from being Mexican-American — or being other versions of "other" in this country — I have ever heard. Plain spoken without being simplistic, heartfelt without being mushy. And very engaging.

Look, I don't like PBS much, and I [almost] never watch Bill Moyers. So if you like this kind of thing more than I do, you should love this. And if you're more like me on the "educational TV" thing, give this one a shot. You won't be sorry.
