A Center for American Progress report lists Arizona as the 4th worst state for gun violence, behind Louisiana, Alaska and Alabama. It concluded that states with more permissive gun laws have a higher level of gun violence than states with stronger gun laws.
Today (Wednesday), an 11am press conference at the Safeway which was the site of the January 8 shootings will discuss the findings. Speaking will be Daniel Hernandez, whose quick response was critical to Giffords' survival, Arkadi Gerney, a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress Action Fund, Patricia Maisch, Nancy Bowman and Pam Simon, all survivors of the January 8 shooting, and State Senator Olivia Cajero-Bedford.
