Paul Babeu was headmaster of DeSisto School in Masschusetts from 1999-2001. While he was headmaster of the boarding school, students were subject to cruel and humiliating punishment. All that is fact.
Many students who were at the school say Babeu was having a sexual relationship with a 17 year old male student. Babeu's sister makes the same allegation.
All this has been documented by ABC News 15 in a number of stories. The Star's Tim Steller has written two blog posts about it, one of which I can no longer find, revealing he has been looking into this story for some time.
Yet this part of the Babeu story has not made it into the print versions of the Star or, so far as I know, the Republic or the East Valley Tribune. Why? The Babeu story is better and more deeply sourced than the Daniel Patterson story which has been all over the papers, and it is far more damning. This is the kind of thing readers eat up. The story would probably boost circulation.
Why isn't it getting the coverage stories like this normally get?
