The choice should not be difficult for Arizona Voters this coming week in deciding who should be the Grand Canyon state’s next Governor.
If people are still on the fence, they should consider the events of this week.
Trump Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Kari Lake invited convicted felon Stephen Bannon to headline a campaign event, calling him a modern-day George Washington.
As AZ columnist Laurie Roberts wrote in her November 2, 2022: “Funny, I don’t recall ever seeing a picture of the father of our country in handcuffs.”
Bannon, the obstructer of Congress, and accused money launderer proceeded to tell those assembled that the election denialism that started in Arizona would end with Trump Zealot’s Lake’s triumph.
Do voters really want to have a Governor that likes to consort with potential and known felons like Mr. Trump and Mr. Bannon and treat these lying charlatans like national heroes?
Another episode that was recorded and posted on social media shows Ms. Lake openly telling her reality-challenged, historically illiterate, and science-denying supporters that schools are making children learn too much math, science, and history.
Kari Lake suggested rolling back high school graduation requirements for science, math, and history.

Just what the state needs: A Governor that has no problem dumbing down children and making them more ignorant and susceptible than their parents to her political perspectives that do not add up and lack credibility.
While Ms. Lake was consorting with felons and talking about dumbing down kids, Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Katie Hobbs mingled with former President Obama to convince voters that this election was about saving Democracy.
The Arizona Secretary of State also spent this week announcing new plans for affordable housing (please click here to read the Arizona is Home Plan) and visiting constituents across the state to discuss her other progressive proposals in her Solution’s Can’t-Wait Program in areas like education, tax cuts, and small business assistance.
In a November 4, 2022 press release from her campaign, Secretary Hobbs said:
“Since the beginning of this campaign, I set out to address the most urgent issues facing Arizonans right now — combating rising costs, defending our rights and freedoms, and improving our public education system. Solutions can’t wait, which is why we’ve traveled to every corner of the state to listen to voters from different backgrounds and communities. As a born and raised Arizonan who knows the value of a hard-earned dollar, this fight is personal for me.”
Arizonans have a choice to make by November 8, 2022.
They either can choose the person who pals around with criminals, spreads election denialism, champions bans on reproductive freedom, espouses unrealistic economic proposals, supports dumbing down children, and embraces fringe culture war talking points.
Or
They can select the nominee that has plans to move the state forward, lift people up, and who Barack Obama said: “is going to get up every day looking for ways to help you.”
It really should not be a difficult choice for Arizona’s voters.
