Who’s running for Tucson City Council in the General Election 2021?

Heading into the General Election of Nov. 2, 2021 are these candidates, running for Wards 3, 5 and 6 on the Tucson City Council.

 

Ward 3 (open seat, currently held by Democrat 3 term former Councilwoman Karin Uhlich, appointed in March 2021). 3 candidates are running for this open seat:

He defeated businessman Juan Padres in the Dem primary on August 3, 2021, 59.59% to 39.66%.

Ward 5 is represented by Councilman Richard Fimbres (D),  running unopposed in both the primary & general elections for his 4th term.  His website: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/ward-5

Ward 6 is represented by Councilman Steve Kozachik (D,) also running for his 4th term. His website: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/ward-6.

He defeated political newcomers Andres Portela III and Miranda Schubert in the Dem primary on August 3, 2021.  Steve K got 57.5% of the vote compared to Andres at 15.32% and Miranda at 26.76%.

Read about these candidates in Ward 3, 5, 6 and vote wisely on or before Nov. 2, 2021. Early ballots go out on October 6.  The winners will join the other Councilmembers Lane Santa Cruz (D), Ward 1; Paul Cunningham (D), Ward 2; Nikki Lee (D), Ward 4, and Mayor Regina Romero (D)  on the Tucson City Council.
