With Republicans Out to Destroy America, Democrats Should Not Fear Being Called Big Spenders

There are some Democrats in Washington D.C. and elsewhere who fear that people will vote against them after the people see campaign ads saying they supported spending too much money and raising the national debt limit by trillions of dollars.

In three words: Bull Fecal Matter.

While the national debt and budget deficits are important issues, Democrats should stop being wimps and focus on investing in the American people and safeguarding the nation’s fiscal stability. If Democrats can do it for less than $3.5 trillion, that’s cool. But they should not be afraid of the pettifogging Republicans whose only mission is to obstruct progress and protect the interests of the one percent.

As for negative campaign ads, how about ads that show Republicans:

• Continually working to divide the country, enlarge the gap between the rich and everyone else, and destroy the American Ideal.
• Raising the national debt by putting two wars and three tax cuts on the American credit card since 2001.
• Doing the business of America’s adversaries.
• Warring against women, minorities, and members of the LGBTQ Community.
• Fighting to tear down the right to vote and the American Democratic-Republic experiment.
• Encouraging the spread of the Big Lie about the 2020 Presidential Election.
• Openly condoning the actions of domestic terrorists against the Nation’s Capitol on January 6, 2021. It is political malpractice if Democrats do not run ads linking Republicans to the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Mark Finchem.
• Risking the lives of Americans by enabling Anti-Mask and Anti-Vaccine fringe zealots to ignore COVID 19 safety precautions and getting vaccinated.
• Never being right about any economic plan for this country in the last 40 years. Were they right about the Clinton Economic Plan? No. Obama’s? No. Reagan, Bush II, and Trump’s? Wrong again.
• Voting against popular measures like preserving the right to vote, funding the police,  Universal Pre K, expanding health care for children, and free community college.

It is time for some Democratic politicians to quit worrying about the lies Republicans will say about them and start telling the truth about the members of the former Party of Lincoln.

The undisputed champion of creating campaign videos that call out Republicans is the Lincoln Project. Now if only the Democrats could pick up a few tips from them.
