Y Climate Action Report available online

“YWCA Southern Arizona is proud to be part of a community response to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the City of Tucson Mayor and Council’s adoption of the Climate Emergency Declaration.
“With record-breaking temperatures, increasingly dry summers, and historic wildfires, the need to act boldly to combat climate change and build resiliency in our city has never been more apparent” – Mayor Regina Romero
There is a significant opportunity to celebrate the progress of the first year of the City of Tucson’s historic Climate Emergency Declaration and to showcase to the community how to act and address all goals of the City of Tucson and its partners on this declaration.

In tandem with the event, your YWCA has developed a publication* to commemorate our work at House of Neighborly Service, actions taken and aspirations for future action by the City of Tucson, and community work towards a more sustainable future.
That publication* is available for download!

Special thanks to Meredeth Beed and Karen Peterson for bringing this publication to life.”

Carolyn’s note:  The City of Tucson and its partners held a Climate Action Anniversary forum on September 9 (which was on our BFAZ calendar). Here’s the comprehensive report from that event. Thanks to Mike Peel formerly of Local First Arizona for bringing this to my attention.
