Lies and misinformation harm people.
That does not seem to bother Donald Trump who has continually lied and encouraged others to follow his example in spreading misinformation and lies on the federal response to Hurricane Helene in the southeast and trying to sow fear and desperation among the many people who have lost everything, including loved ones in this natural disaster tragedy.
More to the point, Mr. Trumo has continually lied and encouraged his cult-following surrogates to follow his lead on spreading falsehoods on a variety of topics for the last eight years.
Commenting on Trump’s latest venture into misinformation, Arizona House Congressional District Three Democratic Nominee Yassamin Ansari offered:
“Trump’s completely baseless lies about the administration’s disaster relief efforts are a pathetic attempt to own the news cycle and are reprehensible in the face of such great disaster in the South. His lies that Vice President Harris spent FEMA money housing migrants are especially absurd and dangerous and have been fact-checked by countless media organizations.
President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the administration are doing an exemplary job of providing disaster relief and supporting state and local government responses while staying out of the way to avoid usurping resources from where they are needed as another hurricane hurtles toward the region.”
On CNN, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly told Dana Bash after Trump’s daughter-in-law, Laura appeared and spread her father in laws lies and falsehoods:
“Laura Trump comes from North Carolina. I am kind of shocked that she is willing to spread misinformation. But I think the folks know that the Trump Family, at every opportunity, uses misinformation to lie to the American People...I was kind of shocked that for her home state, she’s making things more difficult for people on the ground, not sharing the real information.”
Both Ansari and Kelly have correctly pointed out that Trump, his family, and his allies peddling misinformation to the American People is “pathetic” and “shocking.”
That this behavior and Mr, Trump’s constant bad acts (think January 6, 2021) have continually gone on for eight years should be electorally disqualifying in the eyes of ALL the American People.
Donald Trump, his family, and his cronies should never be entrusted with the keys to the Oval Office ever again.
