Democratic House Congressional Candidates Yassamin Ansari (CD Three) and Marlene Galan-Woods (CD One) have released new campaign ads highlighting reasons why voters should select them in the upcoming primary elections.
In the well produced Ansari ad, the former Phoenix Councilwoman and Vice Mayor, walking in a black and white screen with the words “Democracy under Attack, Climate Denials, and Abortion Bans,” starts off by saying “This is the world MAGA extremists want.”
With the candidate, and the surroundings then transforming into color, Ms. Ansari states:
“I’m Yassamin Ansari running for Congress. Progressive values. Real results. That’s what I’m fighting for.”
The piece then shows the candidate visiting households and speaking with voters.
She then described her record on the Phoenix City Council and her role in “protecting abortion providers from extreme bans and lowering housing costs.”
She closed the ad, walking to the camera and followed by supporters, stating:
“In Congress, I’ll stand up to MAGA, defend our Democracy, and deliver Progressive results.”
The Galan-Wood ad takes a more personal approach with the candidate at first talking about her families history of escaping persecution from Cuba to find freedom in the United States.
Starting with “One suitcase. That’s all my mom had when she left Cuba,” Mrs. Galan-Woods continued with:
“My parents fled Castro’s dictatorship in Cuba for freedom. I’m running for Congress to defend it. David Schweikert voted to overturn the 2020 election. He wants to criminalize abortion and ban IVF. Thank God we still have a Democracy. We don’t have to flee from extremists – we can vote them out of office.”
