Your Health Insurance Rates Are Going Up Thanks to Donald Trump and Your Local MAGA Congressmen

In reporting by the Tucson Sentinel, people who receive their health insurance through the Obamacare/Affordable Health Care Marketplaces are about to receive up to an average 55 percent increase in their rates in 2026.

This increase, the amount of which depending on the plan the person or family is currently enrolled in, has been forecast by the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.

Why is this rate increase occurring?

Three reasons.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans commitment to tariffs which are raising prices for the American People.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans failure to pursue anti inflationary policies which are raising prices for the American People.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans taking away the Biden/Harris Affordable Care Act subsidies to help pay for tax cuts to undeserving billionaires which are raising prices for working and middle class American People.

So who do you have to thank for jacking up your health insurance rates?

Donald Trump and Republican Congressmen like Arizona’s Andy Biggs, Juan Ciscomani, Eli Crane, Paul Gosar, Abe Hamadeh, and David Schweikert.

On MAGA Republican House Members complicity in making life harsher for Arizonans, Democratic Congressional Campaign (DCCC) Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly offered in a press release:

“David Schweikert, Eli Crane, and Juan Ciscomani are directly responsible for Arizonans’ skyrocketing health care costs. Voters will hold them accountable next November.”

Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego wrote in a post:

“If Republicans let ACA tax credits expire, 309,000 Arizonans face around a $780 hike in their premiums next year. 103,000 Arizonans could lose health care coverage.

This isn’t an accident—it’s Republican policy.

Destroying Medicaid wasn’t enough for them. They want more people to become sicker and poorer.”

In the Tucson Sentinel article, Senator Mark Kelly commented:

“With Trump and Republicans doing away with the ACA tax credits, premiums are going up, and many families are being priced out of the coverage they rely on. This fight is far from over, and I’ll keep pushing Republicans to work with us to restore those tax credits and lower health care costs for Arizonans.”

JoAnna Mendoza, the retired veteran looking to retire the quiet on this issue Juan Ciscomani from public service also said to the Sentinel on the health insurance rate increases thanks To Trump and MAGA Republican Congressmen:

“Juan Ciscomani is a professional in saying one thing and doing another. Just two months ago, he voted to kick thousands of Arizonans off their health care and hike ACA premiums for everyone. Now Ciscomani wants Arizonans to think he’s fighting to lower healthcare costs (at least until after the midterms) – even though he’s the reason prices are skyrocketing to begin with.”

With the rising rates for most plans, the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions offered the following suggestions on its website.

Even with these increases, you have power and choice.

  • Don’t Settle: If you are renewing coverage, the most important thing you can do is not simply let the system auto-enroll you or accept the first plan offered. Review your options- your current plan might not be the best value for you in 2026.
  • Shop Around: When Open Enrollment begins on November 1, 2025, take the time to compare all the plans available on HealthCare.gov.
  • Look Beyond the Premium: A lower monthly premium may not necessarily translate to a more affordable plan overall. When you’re comparing, consider your total potential costs:
    • Monthly Premium
    • Deductible
    • Copay/Coinsurance
  • Check the Network: Make sure your preferred doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies are included in the network of any new plan you’re considering.
  • Seek Help: You don’t have to this alone. You can work with a licensed health insurance agent or broker for free. They can help you navigate the options and find a plan that fits your needs and budget.

You have the power to act and help yourselves.

Contact the free help assistance and find a plan that will meet your healthcare needs at an affordable rate.

Vote out the Congressmen that decided that helping billionaires get tax cuts they do not need was worth the cost of raising your insurance rates and making your lives harsher.

Vote for a President that will commit to a transition to Medicare and Medicaid for All.
