Phoenix – Attorney General Terry Goddard is pleased to announce he has received the endorsement of the Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS) in the race for Governor of Arizona.
"With more than 8,000 members across the state, AZCOPS has become the strongest advocate for law enforcement officers in Arizona," wrote AZCOPS President Larry Lopez. He added, "It's no secret – public safety is our top priority. AZCOPS leaders believe you share that commitment…. Your support for public safety officers and your willingness to listen to our concerns is deeply appreciated."
Indeed, under Goddard's leadership the Attorney General's Office has been critically involved in law enforcement initiatives statewide – everything from investigation and prosecution of mortgage fraud and price fixing to battling illegal immigration and the cartels that smuggle drugs into Arizona.
"From day one, my personal and professional commitment has been to protect the safety of the people of Arizona," said Goddard. "To accomplish the work we've been able to do, it has been essential to develop excellent working relationships with law enforcement agencies at all levels of government, and in every part of the state. I'm very proud of what we have achieved together."
