Trouble in Teabagger Land?

Gadsden_flag_3b It appears that the package of anti-immigrant bills by Arizona's de facto governor and minister of hate mongering, Sen. Russell Pearce, may be dead — for this legislative session at least.

The establishment Republican Party, i.e., members of the business community and chambers of commerce finally stepped up and said "Enough is enough! You guys are killing our business!" Businesses bring common sense to immigration debate – East Valley Tribune: Opinion.

The "Birthers, Birchers, and Seccesionist" Tea-Publicans failed to revive the package of anti-immigrant bills on Monday. Arizona Capitol Times » Immigration bills are ‘dead’ — for now:

Supporters of the five controversial immigration measures that the Senate killed on Thursday made no attempt to revive the measures on Monday.

As a result, the bills are dead — but the ideas may still be resurrected.

The bills could technically still be brought up for another vote, but the entire chamber would have to consent to the vote, a standard that is virtually impossible to achieve.

Despite that, the proposals included in those bills could still be voted on again. Backers may be able to revive them through strike-everything amendments, which essentially change one piece of legislation to something entirely different.

They also could look to include the proposals in the budget.

But even if that were to happen, the bills would still run into the same wall of opposition.

The backers’ decision to not revive the five bills today is a clear admission of defeat.

Well, not all the teabaggers are so willing to concede defeat. Some are threatening a civil war with the establishment Republican Party.

Gould

Sen. Ron Gould, R-Lake Havasu City, author of the birthright citizenship bills, SB1308 and SB1309, also acknowledged that getting four to five legislators to flip their votes and support the measures would be tough.

In a floor speech, Gould said the bills’ failure is disheartening.

“You have to wonder sometimes why are conservatives still members of the Republican Party,” he said, adding there is a big push for conservatives to leave the party.

Should that happen, Gould said the Republican Party would lose elections in the next 30 years.

Do it you wussies! You're all talk and no action.

Teabaggers do not represent traditional Republican Party ideals and values. Their views are radically un-American. They are extremists who have hijacked the Republican Party and are hollowing out its dead carcass the way a parasite devours its host. They only wanted the Republican Party brand label because the political media would treat their radical extremist views as "reasonable" and "legitimate" for public debate because it was being proffered by an established political party.

This is how all radical extremist groups have come to power over the years. They hijack an established political party for its brand label to give their radical extremist views the imprimatur of reasonableness and legitimacy. It is the way to move the goal posts of what is considered reasonable and legitimate in public debate for what otherwise would have been immediately dismissed as fringe lunacy. Well teabaggers, you've succeeded!

Now it is time to cast aside the dead carcass of the GOP and embrace your inner radical extremism, be yourselves, choose a new name for your political party. Show the world just how radically unrestrained the "Birthers, Birchers and Secessionsits" can be. Stand on your own platform of your own political party. It's time to grow up!
