Not quite the ringing endorsement from those who know her best

AZ BlueMeanie

Posted by AzBlueMeanie: Advertisement I see that all the TV networks have now sent a camera crew to Alaska to shoot their B-footage of "man on the street" interviews of residents, asking them how they feel about Governor Sarah Palin being selected as John McCain’s running mate.  The McMedia is working overtime to spin this … Read more

Sarah Palin was a foot soldier in Buchanan’s Brigade

AZ BlueMeanie

Posted  by AzBlueMeanie: Patrick J. Buchanan was considered too much of a wing-nut fringe extremist for most conservative Republicans when he ran for president in 1992, 1996 and 2000.  "Pitchfork Pat" did have his rabid foot soldiers in his "Buchanan’s Brigade" for those elections. So take a guess who was one of the foot soldiers … Read more

John McCain’s gambling addiction (and tax “issues” too”)

AZ BlueMeanie

Posted by AzBlueMeanie: When John McCain selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate, the McMedia immediately began using gambling metaphors to describe his choice: John McCain is a "risk-taker," a "gambler" who "doubled down" and "rolled the dice" in anticipation that his "gamble" would "pay off." This Los Angeles Times analysis today … Read more

The Palin Pick

Michael Bryan

McCain’s choice of Vice President, while not unexpected (everyone knew she was being vetted) was a real surprise to many. I assumed that she was a pro forma nod to the extreme right and female values voters, not a real possibility. I was floored by the announcement.

Others will ably pick apart the many reasons why Sarah Palin is a terrible choice: she negates McCain’s experience argument against Obama, she is a lightweight in the truest sense, her social conservative positions are way out of whack with mainstream America, she brings McCain’s age and health back to the center of the debate, and her choice looks purely like political opportunism and pandering born of desperation by a still-born campaign.

But I thought that McCain really must know something we don’t. He’s a wiley and smart political infighter who has survived and thrived in the cut-throat competition of Washington for decades; he’s got to know that this choice is going to be widely panned, and his judgment called into question over it. He must have a very compelling reason to choose Palin.

My sources inside the McCain inner circle have finally come through with some seriously scoopy information. I know now why McCain chose Palin and he did so for vital and compelling national security reasons of impeccable logic and wisdom.

McCain knows that the fate of every American hangs in the balance. He knows that only one person can save us. He’s received intelligence that absolutely compels his selection of Palin as VP so that she might be kept close and under his protection.

I’ll reveal why after the flip…

“It’s Not About Me, It’s About You”

by John Adams Dateline Denver…the inspiration of Day 4 was matched only by the determination, shared among tens of thousands at Invesco, and tens of millions who watched, to work for the change we deserve, and the change we need.  We know it’s up to all of us, together, to make the difference on November … Read more

One heartbeat away from the presidency…

AZ BlueMeanie

Posted by AzBlueMeanie: A friend of mine has enjoyed joking for months now that "John McCain has to pick Joe Lieberman as his running mate or he is going to have to have Joe’s lips surgically removed from his ass." Apparently the surgery was a success. Today, in his first "executive decision" as the presumptive … Read more
