President Obama first president to cast an early ballot
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
President Obama is now the first sitting president to vote early. Obama votes early in Chicago – CBS News:
“So this is the first time a president has ever early voted,” he told election officials as his election paperwork was verified, “it’s pretty exciting.”
When asked for his identification upon arrival, the president joked, “I’ve got my driver’s license here, now ignore the fact that there’s no gray hair in that picture.”
An election official responded, “the presidency does something to you.”
“It does,” Mr. Obama said.
He remarked that he was glad he renewed his driver’s license, adding that if he had come prepared with the wrong paperwork, the experience would have been “really embarrassing.”
Birther King Donald Trump’s head is reported to have exploded when Mr. Obama was handed his ballot and allowed to vote – bwahahaha!

Obama campaign ad: ‘What He’ll Do’
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
Willard "Mittens" Romney endorsed Tea-Publican extremist Richard Mourdock for the senate in indiana, and is standing by his man even after Mourdock said during a debate that a woman who gets pregnant by her rapist is carrying a “gift from God” and thus must have the child.
“I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God,” he said. “And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”
The Obama campaign is up with a new ad on the reproductive rights of women entitled "What He'll Do," in Romney's own words. Ad description:
Voiceover:
"Which do you believe? What Mitt Romney's TV ads say about women or what Mitt Romney himself says:"
Mitt Romney:
"Do I believe Supreme Court decisions should overturn Roe v. Wade? Yes."
"And it would be my preference that they reverse Roe v. Wade."
"Hopefully reverse Roe v. Wade."
"Overturn Roe v. Wade"
"Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that."
"I'll cut off funding to Planned Parenthood."
Voiceover:
"No matter what Mitt Romney's ads say we know what he'll do."

Washington Post endorses President Barack Obama
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
The Washington Post, with a stable of Neocon conservative syndicated columnists who pollute the editorial pages of Arizona newspapers, today in an editorial board opinion endorsed President Barack Obama for a second term in a scathing rebuke to Willard "Mittens" Romney. I hear that Jennifer Rubin and Charles Krauthammer are threatening to jump from the roof of the Washington Post building (just kidding). Endorsement: Four more years:
MUCH OF THE 2012 presidential campaign has dwelt on the past, but the key questions are who could better lead the country during the next four years — and, most urgently, who is likelier to put the government on a sounder financial footing.
That second question will come rushing at the winner as soon as the votes are tallied. Absent any action, a series of tax hikes and spending cuts will take effect Jan. 1 that might well knock the country back into recession. This will be a moment of peril but also of opportunity. How the president-elect navigates it will go a long way toward determining the success of his presidency and the health of the nation.
President Barack Obama is better positioned to be that navigator than is his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.
Ann Kirkpatrick campaign ad: ‘Cowboys’

The Ann Kirkpatrick for Congress campaign is up with a new ad entitled "Cowboys." Ad description:
Cowboys ask the question everyone is asking in CD1: Why would we send a lobbyist like Jonathan Paton to represent us in D.C.? He'd be happier than a pig in mud. Ann Kirkpatrick is as Arizona as it gets. She puts the middle class first, not lobbyists or corporations.

Arpaio is a chicken. Call him out! (video)
by Pamela Powers Hannley
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio knows that challenger Paul Penzone is nipping at his dusty cowboy boots this election season– so Arpaio is taking the chicken shit standard Republican position of refusing to debate. Public pressure forced Republican Jeff Flake to debate Democrat Dr. Richard Carmona.
Maricopa County is a cesspool of corruption– election fraud, tent city jails, sheriff's deputies shooting citizens, intimidation of elected officials and citizens, people being murdered in jail, immigration sweeps through neighborhoods, racial profiling … need I go on? Arpaio is a big part of the problem. It's time for his retirement.
Let's put the pressure on Arpaio to debate Penzone. Here is a Facebook call to action from Randy Parraz.

Today is DAY 15 of Arpaio's NO DEBATE PLEDGE. On October 9th Sheriff Arpaio pledged to NOT debate Paul Penzone AND he thinks he can get away with it. Take action now – Call Arpaio's puppeteer, Chad Willems, at Summit Consulting and ask him why Arpaio is too chicken to debate Paul Penzone: (602) 235-9320. Please post your responses here.
Check out one of Penzone's early campaign speeches and a background video on Arpaio after the jump.
