Nobody likes you Frank, not even Republicans
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
I posted weeks ago that Senate President Steve Pierce has said that he does not want "Don't make me angry" Frank Antenori back at the legislature (he will deny it, of course). I told you that capitol lobbyists were contributing to Antenori's challenger, former state representative David Bradley, because they do not want Antenori back at the legislature either. And I told you that there is a "Republicans for Bradley" organization because Republicans are disturbed by "Don't make me angry" Frank Antenori's bizarre antics.
Nobody likes you Frank, not even Republicans. Antenori candidacy sees exodus of Republicans:
Republican Frank Antenori already faces a party-registration disadvantage in his run to remain in the state Senate. Now opposition within his own party is compounding the challenge.
Several people close to Republican Gov. Jan Brewer have contributed to Democrat David Bradley, Antenori's opponent in Legislative District 10. The governor herself is not endorsing either candidate, spokesman Matt Benson said.
[Three people from Gov. Brewer's inner circle have contributed to Bradley: Chuck Coughlin, president of HighGround Public Affairs, Doug Cole, vice president of HighGround, and Paul Senseman of Policy Development Group. Coughlin was Brewer's campaign manager. Cole and Senseman both served as her official spokesman. None would comment for this story.]
And some Southern Arizona Republicans are working against Antenori, who's known as a conservative firebrand prone to angry rhetoric.

The Flake is desperate: resorts to an attack ad peddling a long-ago debunked claim
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
The Flake is desperate after last night's first debate. This morning The Flake campaign began airing a new attack ad featuring Dr. Cristina Beato peddling a long-ago debunked claim that Dr. Carmona harassed her while he was Surgeon General.
Anyone with a memory will recall that this was briefly news at the time, that it was investigated, and that Dr. Beato was determined not to be credible. She apparently still has an axe to grind. Pathetic. If this is all The Flake has, he's got nothing.
Press release from the Dr. Ricahrd Carmoan for U.S. Senate campaign:
Carmona for Arizona statement on false attack
Carmona for Arizona campaign manager Alexis Tamerón released the following statement in response to the false attack from Congressman Jeff Flake's campaign:
"These allegations are completely false. Dr. Beato is a partisan who was caught trying to politicize science at HHS and couldn't be confirmed to a post because she lied on her resume."
"It's no secret that Dr. Carmona pushed back on her attempts to spin science for political gain, but this accusation is a work of fiction. Congressman Flake's decision to run this false ad is deplorable and shows how desperate he is. Congressman Flake should take this ad down."
Horizon (PBS) Arizona U.S. Senate Debate
Posted by AzBlueMeanie:
Horizon Eight (PBS) hosted the first of three U.S. Senate candidate debates on Wednesday between Democrat Dr. Richard Carmona, Republican Rep. Jeff Flake, and Libertarian Marc Victor (he doesn't know who you are either).
The Carmona for U.S. Senate campaign sent out a series of "fact checks" by topic after the debate that I will include below since none of the corporate media in Arizona deem fact checking important, prefering instead stenography and "he said/he said" reporting and false equivalencies.

The Arizona Republic(an) Editorial Board interview of U.S. Senate Candidates Carmona and Flake

The Arizona Republic fka The Arizona Republican back in the day has been living up to its namessake with its endorsements. As several of you have pointed out, The Arizona Republic(an) only endorses Republican candidates unless there is only a Democrat running for the office or the Republican candidate is so godawful, i.e., Crazy Uncle Joe Arpaio for example, that they are compelled to endorse the Democrat.
Columnist Laurie Roberts has been pushing her "Operation Dekookification" of the GOP in the mistaken belief that her father's GOP still exists — it disappeared years ago. As I have suggested before, The Arizona Republic(an) should start with an "Operation Dekookification" of its editorial board (you know who you are) which serves as the mouthpiece for the Arizona Republican Party.
With this caveat in mind, here is The Arizona Republic(an) editorial board meeting with U.S. Senate candidates Dr. Richard Carmona and Rep. Jeff Flake. Videos below the fold.
