A friend of mine wrote to me after reading an earlier post I wrote Blog For Arizona: Bumbler Bee (hearts) Bush and asked if I would pose his debate question for Tim Bee in the hope that one of our local yokel political reporters, or one of our far braver readers, would ask Bumbler Bee this question at a debate or a candidate forum. I am happy to oblige.
In an interview you gave to the Sierra Vista Herald on July 12, 2008 Sierra Vista Herald | The Bisbee Daily Review, you suggested that the answer to our energy crisis lies in "new technologies being developed, including hydrogen and perhaps nuclear-powered vehicles." On what do you base your assertion that nuclear-powered vehicles are viable? And what about the inherent risks involved, i.e., vehicular accidents involving nuclear material, nuclear material readily available to terrorists for construction of dirty bombs, etc.? Do you not believe that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy and the Department of Homeland Security would object to making nuclear materials so readily available to the public?
I would like to hear Bumbler Bee’s answer to this question myself. If anyone gets a chance to ask him this question and actually gets an answer, please let me know. And video, please!
Maybe after Bumbler Bee has lost in November, his pal George Jetson can get him a job at Spacely Sprockets so he can go to work on building that nuclear-powered vehicle.
