Action Alert from the Arizona Democratic Party:

There’s a right way and a wrong way to deal with the issue of immigration.  Arizona is again heading in the wrong direction.

SB1611, the so-called “Immigration Omnibus bill,” will be heard at 2 p.m. today during the Appropriations Committee hearing at the Arizona State Senate.  Under the bill, Arizona's schools, hospitals, universities, colleges and other agencies would be required to enforce federal immigration laws. The bill also seeks to attack the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution by redefining citizenship.  SB1611 does not represent the values and ideas that make this country great.

We need to act — the Republican senators on this committee must hear your opposition to this omnibus bill. Contact your senator and urge him or her to vote NO!
