Theeeey're back! And these may be the last public hearings before the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission votes to approve the final "final maps" for congressional and legislative districts after receiving a voting rights analysis and sending the maps off to the Department of Justice Voting Rights Section for Voting Rights Act preclearance.
The AIRC will receive a report regarding voting rights analysis of proposed legislative and congressional districts, followed by discussion, direction to mapping consultant and possible action regarding adjustments to the approved Final Tentative Legislative Districts Map to address technical or legal issues; and discussion, direction to mapping consultant and possible action regarding adjustments to the approved Tentative Final Congressional Districts Map to address technical or legal issues.
There will be a discussion and possible action regarding renumbering the Congressional and/or Legislative districts, and discussion and possible action to adopt and certify final Legislative and/or Congressional districts.
As always, there will be a call to the audience for public testimony.
