Those of you who have been following the BfA series, Alec and the Arizona Legislature, might be interested in the upcoming ALEC 2011 States & Nation Policy Summit in Phoenix, November 30 to December 2. It will be held at the beautiful Westin Kierland hotel, near the Scottsdale Municipal Airport. Room rates generally range from $200 to $529 ($250 to $625 after charges and taxes), but who knows? Maybe summit attendees get a break.
For those of us who don't plan to be inside (I don't think BfA is going to rate a press pass), organization is ongoing for protests of the summit, similar to the protests at the recent New Orleans ALEC event. Stay tuned for details.
How big a deal is this? At the last year's States & Nation Policy Summit in D.C., among the speakers were Herman Cain, Eric Cantor, Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry. And this is the election season, so I expect a contender or two will be speaking.
(h/t to Azazello for his continuing updates.)
