ALERT: GOP Taliban set to wage jihad

Now that the GOP insane clown possee leadership has passed its "practice budget" the real fun and games are set to begin next week. This is the time of year that the GOP Taliban wages jihad against their fellow Arizonans.

Hours after the Senate approved a package of budget bills for fiscal 2010, Senate President Bob Burns – with the help of a speedy bill reader – assigned more than 200 bills to Senate committees. Work will start Monday.

A total of 469 bills were introduced in the Senate. More than 200 have cleared the House and are awaiting Senate action, and more House bills are in the pipeline.

That adds up to lots of bills to be worked on in the Senate, presumably in the three weeks and two days left in the legislative session.

First up: The Senate Judiciary Committee, which meets Monday, followed by four committees on Tuesday and four on Wednesday.

There's even talk of running back-to-back hearings and – gasp! -working Fridays, a rarity this session.

The idea is to cram the work into the rest of this month, so lawmakers can adjourn at their typical closing date of late June.
