The Other Film about our Schools
The Southwest Institute for ViolenceFree Learning is proud to announce the showing of the other nationally distributed film – Race to Nowhere – to improve public education.
Race to Nowhere – the film you will not see on Oprah. Why?
The reasons are simple: Race to Nowhere does not point fingers, does not invent heroes and villains, and does not make wild claims that have no basis in fact.
Waiting for Superman is a hodgepodge of old, bad and contradictory ideas that appeal to the fears and frustrations of those who search for simple, nihilistic solutions to the highly complex problems and challenges facing the public schools. Instead of creating student and parent victims, let’s develop school improvement initiatives based on research and on what works in the classroom.
Race to Nowhere – It’s Time to Take Action and STOP Teen Suicide – Eating Disorders – Stress Related Illnesses – School Bulling. Go to http://www.racetonowhere.com for more information.
Race to Nowhere – A film on what students, parents, and teachers can do individually and together to make the changes our children need Right Now.
Please attend this very important film if you are in the Tucson, Arizona area. Please contact your friends and colleagues. Click here for more.
