Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes Fights to Protect Electric Cars and the Future

In MAGA world, they do not understand or are uniformed about many things.

Climate Change and the need for cleaner sources of energy is one of them.

Drill Baby Drill and prioritizing subsidies and investments that focus on fossil fuels and equipment like cars that depend on them is one road that no longer should be exclusively traveled.

Abandoning funding programs that harness clean energy sources like wind, solar, water, and electricity only makes America economically weaker to China (who has no problem developing clean energy options) and the world less safe and vibrant.

In his zeal to undo all things Joe Biden and scientifically sound, Donald Trump, even to the detriment of his friend Elon Musk and supporters in red states who are getting good paying green collar jobs, has been jettisoning scientific and energy projects that could, in his warped perspective, lend credence to what he calls “the hoax of climate change” and perpetuate the Green New Deal components in the last Administration’s Infrastructure and Inflation Reduction Acts, including cutting off tax credits and other financial funding for electric cars.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and 15 other state leading legal figures, many of whom have already sued the Trump Science Denying Regime to return science research and wind power funding, have launched another suit to halt the MAGA government from stopping Electric Vehicle Infrastructure money distribution.

In a press statement, Attorney General Mayes wrote:

“Arizona will lose nearly $50 million in critical funding unless the courts block yet another illegal action by the Trump administration. I will not stop fighting to protect Arizona from the flood of illegal and unconstitutional actions by President Trump.”

Mayes is right to join in this fight.

While MAGA battles to return America to a White Male dominated Gilded Age past where coal was king, Kris Mayes and the other leaders in the other 15 states are fighting for the future, a clean planet where we can all breathe and thrive thanks to less gas guzzling cars on the roads, and the continuation of Constitutional Democracy.

Hopefully, the courts will see the wisdom of the Mayes and other Democratic Attorney Generals arguments.
