Arizona Democratic Congressional Delegation Reacts to MAGA Budget that Robs from the Poor on Medicaid so the States Richest Can Get Tax Cuts

300,679

That is the combined number of people enrolled in the Obamacare/Affordable Care Act Marketplaces (109,686) and Medicaid (190,993) that stand to lose their health care coverage in Arizona so MAGA Republicans can give the Grand Canyon state’s richest a tax cut and a chance for the government to pay for their child’s private school tuition that they do not need or financial assistance for.

Another broken promise (surprise, surprise) from the mouth of American Duce wannabe Donald Trump on his commitment to make life affordable for people again.

That will go along with his promise to have Mexico pay for the fall and an achieving a better and cheaper health care system.

Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Delegation is not standing for this and issued a joint press release protesting this cruel budget that goes against everything America is supposed to stand for.

The quartet have been repeatedly warning about the dangers of this MAGA rob from the poor and give to the rich budget since the first outlines of it were floated to the media.

Representative Yassamin Ansari.

Arizona Congressional District Three House Representative Yassamin Ansari commented:

“Stripping health care from over 300,000 Arizonans—including children, seniors, people with disabilities, and working families—just to hand out tax breaks to the rich is unconscionable. The GOP proposal would cause devastating impacts in our most vulnerable communities, pushing families to the brink and putting lives at risk. I will continue to fight to protect and expand access to affordable, quality health care for every Arizonan.”

Congressman Greg Stanton

Arizona Congressional District Four House Representative Greg Stanton offered:

“Republican cuts to Medicaid aren’t just some number on a spreadsheet. Real people will lose their health care. And whether you use Medicaid or not, cuts this drastic will mean longer wait times at hospitals, health care worker layoffs, and nursing homes and community clinics shutting down. We’re going to fight these attacks with all we’ve got.”

Senator Ruben Gallego conveyed:

“If Congressional Republicans cut Medicaid and the ACA like they plan to, hundreds of thousands of Arizonan children, seniors, people with disabilities, and working families will lose coverage. On top of that, these cuts would force rural hospitals to shut down, push more people into overcrowded ERs, and pass down costs to every Arizonan—all to line the pockets of Trump’s billionaire friends. That’s why I’m doing everything in my power to stop these harmful cuts.”

Senator Mark Kelly wrote:

“I’ve heard from families across Arizona who are already stretched thin and worried about losing the health care they depend on. Now Republicans are pushing a plan that confirms their worst fears—stripping health care away from the people who need it most like kids, seniors, and working parents. All of this to give tax breaks to rich people. This isn’t a done deal, and I’m going to continue fighting for affordable health care for Arizonans.”
