No surprises here.
The Trump MAGA Know Nothing Republicans, having learned no history lessons from the economic poison unleashed by Trickle Down Economics in the Reagan, Bush II, and Trump I tax cuts, have, with no Democratic support, passed a Big Ugly MAGA Project 2025 Angel of Death Economic Bill that is supply side economics on steroids that will be the biggest shift in wealth with a Reverse Robin Hood approach of robbing from the needy poor’s health insurance (Medicaid and Affordable Care Marketplace) and food stamps (many of them Trump voters) to give unnecessary tax cuts to the spoiled rich.
With health care costs rising and grocery prices rising while people are losing their health insurance and food security, this awful legislation has made it harder for working and middle class Americans to afford even the basic necessities of life including paying for the electric bill.
It also damages the viability of clean energy projects and good paying blue and green collar jobs advanced by the pro growth Infrastructure programs in the Biden/Harris Administration by repealing tax credits in that area.
It also enables the White Nationalist MAGA Trumpists to expand their ICE-Gestapo Secret Police numbers while creating concentration camps for mostly innocent immigrants and American Citizens who are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Suffice it to say, the Arizona House Democratic Congressional Candidates looking to succeed the late Raul Grijalva and replace MAGA apostates Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert had harsh words about the Big Ugly MAGA Project 2025 Angel of Death Economic Bill the Republicans have plagued the American People with.
Looking to vanquish David Schweikert, Marlene Galán-Woods issued a statement that read:
“Today, David Schweikert and his Republican cronies got their obscene wish: they handed over a tax cut to line the pockets of their billionaire friends, all at the expense of middle-class families. This cruel bill will push millions off of their healthcare, literally take food away from hungry children, and will raise costs for everyday Americans. Not to mention, this irresponsible bill will also add nearly $4 trillion dollars to the debt. The hypocrisy is breathtaking from supposed “fiscal hawk” David Schweikert. When I’m in Congress, I will work to lower costs and I will always stand up for working Arizonans.”
JoAnna Mendoza, the other major Democrat looking to politically dispatch a battleground Republican, in this case Juan Ciscomani, also released a statement that relayed:
“We already knew Juan Ciscomani was a coward, and once again, he sold out working Arizonans to give tax breaks to billionaires, and the results for our families will be devastating. His vote to pass this egregious budget bill means that thousands of children, seniors, and veterans in our district will lose their health care, food assistance, and jobs. Our health care facilities that are already stretched to the brink will now be at risk of shutting down. The impact of Ciscomani’s vote is going to affect everyone – not just people that rely on government assistance programs.”
“Sellout Ciscomani has shown who he prioritizes – billionaires that don’t need another damn tax cut.”
“As someone whose family depended on these vital programs as a child, I know how harmful Ciscomani’s vote will be for Southern Arizona. Without those safety nets, I would not have been able to serve my country honorably for over twenty years. I’m running for Congress because Arizonans deserve a leader who will fight for lower costs, expand access to affordable health care, and to make life easier for them – and you have my word, as both a mom and a Marine, that in Congress I will always fight for you.”
The Democrats looking to succeed Raul Grijalva on a July 15 special election also voiced their views.
After the Senate voted to advance the Big Ugly MAGA Project 2025 Angel of Death Economic Bill, Deja Foxx commented at a social event. After recounting the hardships people today feel like deciding whether to get groceries, purchase prescriptions, or new sneakers for school, she said:
“That is the reality for young people and families all across this district, and they’re the ones who are going down to live with the consequence of this bullshit bill. How could these people get this way to strip the funding of the healthcare of millions of people. To take food off of the tables are most vulnerable families. I am telling you it is because there’s a problem in our political system. They are not accountable to you. They take corporate pac money and they line their pockets from billionaire dollars. That’s how they fund their campaigns. They have forgotten who they work for.”
In her post, she added:
“This bill guts Medicaid, slashes clean energy, and fuels mass deportations — all to pay for billionaire tax cuts. Republicans are rushing it through. We see them. We won’t forget.”
Adelita Grijalva also released a social media video, stating:
“I’m running for Congress because things like Trump’s big bullshit bill are screwing over Arizonans. It cuts programs Arizona’s rely on Medicaid, food assistance, public education, Planned Parenthood, healthcare for our veterans, all to give tax breaks to billionaires, and we are going to be left with the check. I’m pissed, and I will never stop fighting for you.”
Daniel Hernandez posted:
“Disappointed that each and every Arizona Republican member voted for cuts to AHCCCS and SNAP to fund billionaire tax cuts. Arizonans will die because of this.”
Democrats, Independents, and like minded Republicans should be comforted by the nearly nine hour speech on the House Floor by Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries who cited the Declaration of Independence and the words of John Lewis and Martin Luther King in his closing remarks.
Saying Americans will launch a Project 2026 to defeat Project 2025 like the Revolutionary Founding Fathers did when they formed Project 1776 to repel the British Project 1775, Jeffries cited former Representative and Civil Rights icon Lewis, saying “Don’t despair.”
In his closing sentences, he quoted Martin Luther King, saying:
“No matter what the odds. Got to press on and if you can’t fly, run. Can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl, But at all times, press on and keep pressing. So, as I take my seat, I just want to say to the American People that no matter what the outcome is on this singular day, we’re going to press on. We’re going to press on. We’re gonna press on.”
“We’re gonna press on for our children. Press on for our seniors. Press on for a veterans. Press on for our unions. Press on for our Farmers. Press on for our Dreamers. Press on for working-class Americans. Press on for the middle class. Press on for all who inspire to be part of the middle class. Press on for the poor. Press on for the sick Press on for the afflicted. Pass on for the least. Press on for the lost. Press on for the left behind. Press on for the rule of law. Press on for the American way of life. Press on for Democracy. We’re gonna press on until victory is won.”
