New Arizona Democratic Party Chair Robert Branscomb presented the latest Arizona Democratic Party and Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (ADLCC) episode of “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” at the State Legislature.
In his remarks, the Chairperson said:
“The Good. This week, Governor Hobbs, veto, Bill, HB, 2703, the bill that was shortened early voting and removed voters from the early voters list. We thank Governor Hobbs for continuing to ensure that all Arizonans have access to the ballot.”
The Bad. Despite voters overwhelmingly supporting Prop 139, the Republicans continue their attacks on Reproductive Rights. At the House Judiciary Committee, Representative, Rachel Keshel introduced HB 2681. This bill would limit a person’s access to contraceptives.”
“The Ugly. Republicans in the House Appropriations Committee voted no on an amendment to protect funding for the Division of Developmental Disabilities. This amendment would have prevented massive cuts to programs and vital services to help mentally disabled children and adults.”
“With a Republican controlled House and Senate, it is tough to keep up with all the extremes. But as Arizona Democrats, we won’t stop fighting for you.”

Leave it to the repulsive Republicans to vote down programs for disturbed children and adults while trying to pass bills that deny access to contraceptives.
