(UPDATED)Arizona Democratic Reaction to Joni Ernst’s Cruel and Callous “We’re All Going to Die” Remark

Iowa Senator Joni Ernst may have made the best 2026 Midterm Campaign Ad…for Democrats when at a town hall in a district Donald Trump won with 72 percent of the vote, she epitomized MAGA Republicans cruelty and disregard for the people in her lying assertion that there are 1.4 million illegal immigrants enrolled in Medicaid and then made it worse when, after being drowned out with the sounds of condemnation of the town hall attendees who said these people could die, replied “We are all going to die.”

First, this MAGA talking point that there are illegal immigrants enrolled in Medicaid has been repeatedly fact checked and repeatedly debunked.

Second, Ernst, the person who backtracked when faced with the possibility of a primary challenge if she did not back white nationalist-male chauvinist pig-resident boozer Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary, showed MAGA Republicans true colors for even a blind person to see:

They do not care about you.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s rebuke of Ernst’s remark was perhaps the most amusing.

Arizona Democratic reaction to Ernst’s cruel and callous remark was similar in style to Newsom’s and on point.

Arizona House Representative Yassamin Ansari quipped in a social media post:

“Republicans with their positive vision for the future of our country.”

In a social media post, Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego called Ernst’s remarks symbolic of a “New GOP death panel.”

Arizona House Democrats issued a joint post that simply said:

Republican plans for healthcare summed up perfectly.”

Arizona Senate Democratic Leader Priya Sundareshan reposted this comment from California Congressman Eric Swalwell.

“Yes, Joni, we are all going to die. But it shouldn’t be our SENATORS who are killing us.”

Arizona House Democratic Leader Oscar De Los Santos commented in a post:

“The Republican plan to cut health care and food assistance will kill seniors and people with disabilities— and the Republicans don’t give a damn.”

Arizona House Congressional District Seven Candidate Deja Foxx referred to her social media post that stated:

“They’re trying to rip care away from families like mine.

To them, it’s politics.
To me, it’s survival.”

Arizona House Congressional District Seven Candidate Daniel Hernandez offered:

Republicans like @SenJoniErnst couldn’t care less about these devastating cuts: “well we’re all going to die.” Meanwhile, here at home, 550,000 Arizonans could get kicked off of Medicaid & CHIP––programs that literally SAVED MY LIFE as a teenager.”
