Willard "Mittens" Romney has terrible timing. The media villagers should nail him down on SB 1070 (Romney's anti-immigrant advisor is Kris Kobach, the author of SB 1070), as well as nail him down on the Obama administration's "DREAM Act-Lite" policy. No more evasion or slippery responses unchallenged by the media villagers.
Press release from DRM Capitol Group:
Arizona DREAMers to Protest Mitt Romney’s Arizona Visit for his opposition to President Obama’s new directive
Scottsdale, AZ – On Monday June 25th, Arizona DREAMers in Phoenix will hold a press conference with Latino leaders on Mitt Romney’s visit to Arizona. The DREAMers will also be at his Scottsdale fundraiser where they will demand that he directly respond to whether he supports President Obama’s new immigration policy.
Most recently, Mitt Romney adviser Ed Gillespie said President Obama’s decision not to deport undocumented students would be reviewed and could be repealed by Romney if he becomes president. “All of these are subject to review and repeal,” Gillespie said in an interview on CNN.
After over a week of refusing to say whether or not he’d repeal the Obama administration’s immigration action, the Latino community is taking his silence as a clear opposition to President’s new policy. This places Romney on the wrong side of an issue important to Latinos. According to recent poll, Latinos overwhelmingly support the president’s action to stop the deportation of undocumented youth.

Local Latino Elected Officials and Arizona DREAMers Hold Press Conference on Mitt Romney’s Visit to Arizona and His Label of SB 1070 as a “Model” for the Nation
Romney’s Visit to Arizona Underscores His Status as the Most Extreme Presidential Nominee on Immigration in Modern History
Phoenix, AZ – On Monday June 25th, local Latino elected officials and Arizona DREAMers in Phoenix will hold a press conference on Mitt Romney’s visit to Arizona today and his label of SB 1070 as a “model” for the nation. Romney’s visit to Scottsdale today underscores his status as the most extreme presidential nominee on immigration in modern history.
Recently, Mitt Romney told the largest national gathering of Hispanic elected officials: ‘When I make a promise to you – I will keep it.’ But in front of an audience of Republican primary voters, he called the DREAM Act a ‘handout’ and promised to veto it. Now, after over a week of refusing to say whether or not he’d repeal the Obama administration’s immigration action that prevents young people who were brought here through no fault of their own as children from being deported, we should take him at his word that he will veto the DREAM Act as president.
The facts speak for themselves. Romney is the most extreme presidential nominee on immigration in modern history, who’s said that immigrants should self-deport and has called SB 1070 a “model” for the nation. Arizonans have been paying attention and know where Mitt Romney stands.
In contrast, President Obama is making our nation’s immigration system more fair, more efficient, and more just – specifically for certain young people who are low enforcement priorities. That’s why he has always supported the DREAM Act, a bill that says if your parents brought you here as a child, and you’ve been here for five years and you’re willing to go to college or serve in our military, you can one day earn your citizenship. The President believes we must continue to pressure Congress to pass the DREAM Act in order to provide talented and patriotic young men and women who were brought here through no fault of their own an earned path to citizenship.
Following are details for the press conference in Phoenix:
