Arizona Eagle PAC Aims to Jettison Paleoconservative Congressman Eli Crane

Right-wing billionaires have kept Congressman Eli Crane (R-CD2) in office for three years. Still, the Arizona Eagle PAC aims to end his gun-loving, anti-abortion and anti-immigrant tenure in 2026.

Crane, a hidebound reactionary:

• Lives outside the district and refuses to meet with the people he claims to represent.
• Supports tariffs that are raising prices for Americans and ruining our economy.
• Voted to increase the national debt by $3 trillion and offered no plan to repay the money. So, Americans are paying an extra $150 billion in interest each year.
• Voted to slash Medicaid funding, which will force the shutdown of most rural hospitals in Arizona.

Crane is vulnerable in the competitive Congressional District 2 (Flagstaff), which spans vast rural areas including Apache, Coconino, Gila, Navajo, Yavapai, Graham, Maricopa, Mohave, and Pinal counties.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has explicitly targeted Crane as part of the “Trump-Musk Administration.” In 2025, Democrats have been winning in conservative districts while Trump’s base of support has crumbled.

“He’s untrustworthy and fails to take action on any critical issues facing our state,” said Eric Kramer, treasurer and founder of AZ Eagle PAC in Pinetop. “Crane is one of the most extreme members of Congress and a continuing embarrassment to Arizona.”

Kramer is the past chair of the Navajo County Democratic Party. Under his leadership, the county party worked to elect Democratic candidates, including Ann Kirkpatrick and Tom O’Halleran to Congress, Mark Kelly to the U.S. Senate, and Joe Biden as president.

Eric Descheenie and Jonathan Nez are Democrats running against Crane. Nez lost in a race against Crane in 2024.

Crane wants to end Food Stamps, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. This will take $110 billion away from supermarkets and small, independent store owners, tanking the economy.

A carpetbagger, Crane resides in Oro Valley, which is outside of CD2.

According to the AZ Eagle PAC, Crane touts himself as a successful businessman. Yet, his former company, Bottle Breacher, has been known to defraud customers by accepting payment for products that are never delivered.

Moreover, he has actively worked to pass legislation to harm Arizonans, including:

• Voting to cut domestic spending by up to 22%, which jeopardized veterans’ medical care funding. 
• Voting ‘no’ on tax breaks for Arizona families
• Sponsoring legislation to repeal tax relief for Arizona homeowners, eliminate $10 billion for Clean Energy and cost the state 13,000 jobs.
• Supports a total nationwide abortion ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest, and sponsored legislation to prevent women in the military from accessing abortion care.

“At least three billionaires are involved in supporting Eli Crane and pulling his strings,” the PAC says. They include:

• Elon Musk, head of the failed DOGE project.
• Arizona Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick.
• Richard Uihlein, the operator of a huge packaging supply company, once got in trouble for employing undocumented workers.

With the DCCC targeting the seat and two Democratic challengers already in the race, Crane’s political future hangs in the balance. Arizona Eagle PAC is calling on grassroots donors to level the playing field against billionaire-backed extremism and give CD2 voters a genuine choice in 2026.
