Arizona Fair Elections Initiative Appears Poised to Go on the November 8 Ballot as Proposition 210

Score a potential victory for the power and will of the people.

Despite a recent court challenge that may result in the disqualification of thousands of signatures, the Arizona Fair Elections Initiative appears poised to go on the November 8, 2022, ballot as Proposition 210.

In a letter to Governor Ducey’s office and a certificate sent to Arizonans for Free and Fair Elections, the Secretary of State’s office confirmed that 298,878 valid signatures were collected of the 399,838 signatures submitted.

With a minimum requirement of 237,645, the Arizona Fair Elections Initiative will qualify for the November ballot if court challenges to remove it are unsuccessful.

Commenting on this result from the Secretary of State’s office, Stacy Pearson of Lumen Strategies, stated:

“…Legal challenges/appeals are expected to conclude Thursday. But short of the Arizona Supreme Court overriding validation work done by 14 county recorders and the Secretary of State, and overturning lower court decisions, Fair Elections will be on the ballot as Prop. 210.”

If submitted to the November 8, 2022 ballot, Arizonans will have a chance to:

  • Block the Legislature from overturning the results of presidential elections:
  • Expands voter access by extending early voting and access to any polling site.
  • Lobbying reform.
  • Make it easier to file ballot initiatives.
  • Remain on PEVL (mail ballots) if they like.
  • Register to vote and update their voter information when they obtain a driver’s license.
  • Allows same-day voter registration and voting.

Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for the next 44 hours. Nothing can be taken for granted with this State Supreme Court.

  1. Good article. but why is there an ad villifying Critical Race Theory by Christopher Rufo of the Claremont Institute embedded on this page?

    • The Blog cannot catch all the ads that our third-party puts up. You should look for the little “x” in the corner of the ad, which is how to object to the ad. If they get enough objections, it is my understanding their logarithms will delete the ad from our website. You can help us monitor these ads this way.
