Update to House Ethics Committee Slams Liz Harris, But Makes No Recommendation on Discipline.
This begs the question, why was QAnon Senator Wendy Rogers not expelled after having threatened her colleagues last year? And more importantly, the entire MAGA/QAnon caucus daily spreads baseless election denier conspiracy theories and puts it into legislation, shouldn’t the entire MAGA/QAnon caucus be expelled as well? Many of those who voted to expel this nut job are just as bad as she is. By rights they all should have joined her on the way out the door.
David Edwards reports, Arizona House expels Republican election denier over baseless conspiracy theories:
Now-former state Rep. Liz Harris (R) has been expelled from the Arizona House of Representatives after she presented a witness that accused fellow Republicans of baseless conspiracy theories.
The expulsion came on Wednesday after the House Ethics Committee found that the lawmaker damaged “the institutional integrity of the House” by inviting Jacqueline Breger to testify at an election integrity hearing. The ethics panel determined that Harris at least partially knew that Breger would offer conspiracy theories accusing lawmakers of “money laundering, drug trafficking, public corruption, bribery of public officials and election fraud,” according to KJZZ.
“What should have been a joint hearing to examine commonsense election reforms devolved into disgraceful fringe theater,” House Speaker Ben Toma said in a statement this week. “I’m not alone in believing that it was irresponsible and bad judgment for Ms. Harris to invite a person to present unsubstantiated and defamatory allegations in a legislative forum.”
Harris was expelled by the Republican-controlled House by a vote of 49-13.

What’s really rich is hearing republicans pontificate about “ethics.” They should rename themselves the “No Party: No Guts, No Clue, No Ethics.”
Also, the creep factor can’t be overlooked. Liz Harris is just a creepy crazy person. She makes even her caucus mates a little concerned for a mass casualty event.
In any case, I am totally shocked that the more moderate Republicans in the caucus found the spine to eject one of their own – even one as reckless and offensive as Harris. I guess they decided that a vote to ‘not expel’ would be more offensive to their electorates than a vote to expel. I don’t disagree with their electoral math on that…
The difference between Harris and Rogers is that Harris offended many of her GOP colleagues with her baseless accusations that included themselves, whereas other election deniers were wise enough only to impugn their Democratic colleagues and ‘RINOs’. You are safe as long as your lies are only aimed at Democrats and Republicans ‘squishy’ enough to openly challenge Trump, Lake, Finchem, and Hamadeh’s lies.
