There were two more horrific mass shootings/acts of terrorism yesterday.
In Rhode Island, a 24-year-old person of interest from Wisconsin is in custody for the brutal murder of two people and the injury of nine others at Brown University.
At Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, an Anti Semitic father and son opened fire and killed 15 people and injured dozens more at an event celebrating the first night of Hanukkah.
When will these senseless mass shootings of innocents ever end?
There was a swift condemnation of the shootings by several of Arizona’s leaders.
On the Rhode Island mass shooting, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs posted:
“I’m devastated by yet another tragic act of gun violence in an American classroom. My heart is with the victims, their families, the survivors, and the people of Rhode Island. Students and professors deserve to feel safe on our college campuses.”
Representative Yassamin Ansari stated:
“I am devastated by the news of a mass shooting at Brown University. Praying for the victims, their families, students, faculty, and the entire Rhode Island community as we await more information. Gun violence should never be accepted as normal.”
Senator Ruben Gallego wrote:
“So heartbroken to hear about the tragic shooting at Brown University — my thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Brown community during this devastating time.”
On the Bondi Beach act of terror, Governor Hobbs wrote:
“My heart aches for the victims of the horrific terrorist attack on Bondi Beach. I’m thinking of them and extending my deepest condolences to their loved ones. As Jewish families across the world gather to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah, I stand in solidarity with them and against all hate.”
Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego conveyed:
“I am horrified by the news of the attack on families celebrating Hanukkah in Australia. My heart goes out to all those impacted. @PhoenixPolice is in touch with our Jewish community and working to ensure safe celebrations in Phoenix.”
Representative Yassamin Ansari stated:
“I’m heartbroken and furious to learn of the vile, blatantly antisemitic terrorist attack against the Jewish community in Australia, carried out on the first night of Hanukkah.
This violence is not an isolated incident. It comes amid a deeply alarming global rise in antisemitism that must be confronted with urgency and resolve. No one should have to fear for their safety because of who they are or how they worship, including in their places of faith.
Antisemitism is a deadly hatred with real-world consequences, and it has no place in our societies. Hatred and extremism in any form must be rejected and defeated.
My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the Jewish community, and with all those affected by this senseless act of terror.”
Representative Greg Stanton conveyed:
“The antisemitic terrorist attack at a Sydney Hanukkah festival is appalling. Jews should feel safe to practice their faith without any fear of violence.
May the memories of those lost be a blessing. And as Jewish communities light the Hanukkah candles tonight, may we all find light in the darkness.”
He also saluted the hero who took the rifle away from one of the shooters, reposting:
Senator Ruben Gallego wrote:
“What happened in Sydney is a devastating reminder of how dangerous the surge in antisemitism has become.
No one should fear for their lives because of who they are or how they worship. I’m thinking of those recovering, those grieving, and Jewish communities worldwide.”

Worth mentioning that the perpetuators were Islamic terrorists..
Wondering, John, how do you feel about President Trump’s “mentions” around the killing of the Robe Reiner and his wife?
Johnny Boy, either through ignorance or deliberate omission you’re not acknowledging the brave unarmed man who disarmed one of the shooters and was wounded, was a Muslim named Ahmed al-Ahmed.
The vast majority of Muslims are not only not terrorists, they vociferously condemn Islamic terrorism. I guess that’s a crucial distinction that’s lost on you.
@ Sen. Kavanagh –
The hero in Australia was also a Muslim, or do you believe that only the professed religious affiliation of the shooters matter.
And do you apply that standard to all mass shooters?
Worth mentioning that Arizona Senator John Kavanaugh is a racist and religious bigot who constantly files bills in the Arizona Legislature and speaks publicly in ways that continually renew and reinforce that fact…
Terrorism must be condemned as a crime and anathema to democracy no matter who uses it. Clearly, that would include right wing and Christian Fundamentalist ideological and relgious terrorists in this country who attack our own government, our public servants and officials, and minority relgious institutions and congregations, not to mention abortion doctors, at vastly greater rates than any other identifiable group in this country, yet Johnny the Blog Jester will never be heard to condemn THOSE attacks, nor comfort THOSE victims – because he is one of them. He just does his work under the aegis of legislative privilege.
And sadly, either out of ignorance or depravity he has enough voters keeping him in office.
Hey John Who Lives on TaxPayer Money Kavanagh, it’s worth mentioning that 67 percent of sex offenders are Republican.
So if you’re going to group all Muslim’s together, we can group all Republicans together.
And based on your own logic, I’d advise people to watch their kids around you.
FFS, you even voted for Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend.
