Arizona Supreme Court Rejects Anti-Democracy Arizona GQP’s Second Bid To Do Away With Mail-In Voting

Democracy Docket reports, Arizona Mail-in Voting Challenge II:

Lawsuit filed on behalf of the Arizona Republican Party and its chairwoman challenging the state’s no-excuse mail-in voting system, which has been in place since 1991. The plaintiffs argue that the Arizona Constitution requires in-person voting on specific days and, because mail-in voting does not follow these rules, it is unconstitutional. The lawsuit asks the state trial court to strike down Arizona’s no-excuse mail-in voting system, which has been extremely popular since it was instituted in 1991, and only allow in-person voting in future elections. This is the plaintiffs’ second attempt to disband the state’s extremely popular mail-in voting system after their first attempt was rejected by the Arizona Supreme Court. On June 6, the trial court rejected the plaintiffs’ request for relief and then dismissed the case.

On Jan. 17, 2023, the appellate court affirmed the dismissal of the lawsuit. On Jan. 28, the Republican plaintiffs asked the Arizona Supreme Court to review the case. On June 2, 2023, the Arizona Supreme Court rejected the petition.

  1. Why does anyone vote for a party who hates them voting at all? The Vlad Putin/ Chinese Communist school of democratic principles.

  2. We must preserve mail ballots!!!! What about all the disabled people also????
